Flooring Experience You Can Stand On
My name is Calvin Witherspoon, founder of CMW Carpet Co, LLC, proudly serving Hatfield, PA and the surrounding communities with quality flooring products and expert installation services.
I’ve called Hatfield home for the past 37 years. I’ve been married for 37 wonderful years, I’m a proud father of two sons—Omar and Calvin Jr.—and a grandfather to three amazing grandchildren: Alanna, Mikaela, and my little buddy Marley (he’s the love bug of the family). Our dog, Sir Westly Jackson Witherspoon, keeps us all entertained.
But beyond family, there’s one thing that’s been a steady part of my life for over four decades: Flooring.
Over 44 Years Of Flooring Experience
My journey in the flooring business began over 44 years ago, not with sales—but with hard work. I started by picking up and dropping off vacuum cleaners, cleaning carpets and upholstery. That job introduced me to two men who changed the direction of my life: Lou Crump, who sold carpets, and Dewitt Moore, his installer.Back then, my father had given me a van, and Dewitt needed help. So I began subcontracting with flooring companies and learning every step of the trade.
Over the years, I worked for some of the most recognized flooring businesses in the region:
- Delaware Valley Carpet (DVC) in Bristol, PA
- Michael D’s (now Floors USA) in King of Prussia, PA
- Carpeteria in Hatfield and Quakertown, PA
- Bee Jay Carpet in Lansdale, PA
Each job sharpened my skills and deepened my understanding of quality flooring—from installation to customer satisfaction.
From Installer To Trusted Flooring Advisor
After years of hands-on experience, I realized that in order to grow, I needed to take a bigger step. I started selling flooring directly to customers, while still doing installations. My goal was simple: just one job per week. But before long, that turned into 2–3 jobs per week, and I made the leap to focus on sales full-time—and I’ve never looked back.
That was 25 years ago, and it’s how CMW Carpet Co, LLC was born.
We built our business on a foundation of trust, craftsmanship, and service. Even during tough times—like the 2008 recession—we kept pushing forward. That period taught me more about flooring, business, and resilience than any other time in my career.

Like LVT, but in the look of natural hardwood planks, instead. You’ll find these in just as wide of a variety of styles, including hand-scraped wood. LVP can be installed more easily than real hardwood, in uniform lines, staggered patterns, or even diagonal layouts for a fully customizable look.
Sheet Vinyl
A cushioned sheet of vinyl, adhered directly to your subfloor in one piece. One thing to consider – the level of realism of LVT and LVP can’t be matched by sheet vinyl.
